PET packing tape production line is a kind of automated equipment for producing polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic packing tape, which is widely used in logistics, packaging, building materials and other industries. The following is a detailed description of its composition and workflow:
Main components of the production line
(1) Raw material processing system
Dryer: PET raw materials (pellets or recycled materials) need to be pre-dried to remove moisture (humidity is usually controlled at ≤ 0.02%) to prevent hydrolysis and degradation during high temperature extrusion.
Feeder: optional, used to add masterbatch, toughening agent and other modifying materials, to achieve customized color or performance.
(2) Extrusion system
Screw extruder: melting PET raw materials, temperature segment control (usually 250-280 ºC), to ensure uniform plasticization.
Melt filter: removing impurities to ensure extrusion purity.
Metering pump: accurately control the melt flow, stabilize the strip thickness.
(3) Molding and cooling
Die head (mold): flat slit design, determining the width and thickness of the strip (common width 12-19mm, thickness 0.5-1.2mm).
Cooling water tank: sudden cooling and shaping (water temperature 40-55ºC), to avoid crystallization leading to brittleness, and equipped with pressure rollers to adjust the flatness of the strip.
(4) Stretching and heat treatment
Preheating roller: heating the strip above the glass transition temperature (about 80-100ºC) to facilitate molecular orientation.
Multi-stage stretching unit: longitudinal stretching (3-5 times) to enhance tensile strength (up to 800-1200N/mm²).
Heat-setting roller: eliminates internal stress, stabilizes size, and reduces late shrinkage.
(5) Winding and subsequent processing
Tension control winder: constant tension winding to avoid loose or tight (roll weight usually 10-50kg).
Printing device (optional): prints logo or specification information on the tape surface.
